It is hard to pick up the difference between the many types of moves
At www.moversatwork.com we understand that, and are here to tell you a little bit on each one.
A “bill of lading” is the contract between the mover and you for the transportation of your household or business goods. Make sure you understand and agree with all statements before you sign. It is a binding contract.
“Bill of lading” would apply to all type of moves.
These are moves that are under 50 or 100 miles within the same state, a lot of local movers use smaller trucks and charge by the man hour.
Let’s say you need to move more the 50 – 100 miles away with the same state ,this would be a long distance move, these moves are usually charge by the weight of the shipment
There are two types of long distance moves:
This is the kind of relocation where your mover do all of the work for you.
They will pack your stuff loaded up and ship it to your new home.
You save money by packing everything up yourself and let the movers take care of the loading and driving.
You could be moving 5 or 500 miles but if you cross a state line during your relocation it becomes an
interstate move.
These moves are similar to long distance moves.
International moves are those that cross international borders, thought you are still in the USA moves to Alaska Hawaii and Puerto Rico are also considered international moves
