DELIVERY: Generally, your belongings will be transported in a van along with those of other families that are moving in the same general direction. This helps to keep your costs down. Delivery is made on any of the several consecutive days agreed upon before the move began. Make sure the mover knows how to contact you to schedule your delivery. If you cannot be reached at destination, the mover may place your shipment in storage to avoid delaying the other shipments that are on-board his truck. This can mean additional
charges for storage and handling. (More information on SIT is provided under the heading called .Storing Your Shipment..)

This additional storage is called .storage-in-transit. charges are based on the amount of goods placed into storage and the length of time that the goods remain in storage. Also, since the goods will have to be re-loaded onto a different vehicle when they come out of storage, an additional charge also applies for the final delivery from the SIT facility to your residence.
